Missoula Federal Credit Union

Project Details

Congratulations to the Missoula Federal Credit Union for receiving a LEED® Platinum Certification on their new building located at 1775 Russell Street, Missoula, Montana. The project earned a total of 57 points, 5 more than the threshold for Platinum. Platinum is the highest level possible for the LEED® rating system. Under LEED® NC 2.2 (the version that was current during this project) there are 12 Platinum Certifications in the U.S. as of April, 2009, and this is the first in Montana. Under the previous version (NC 2.1) there are 46 in the U.S.

Temp Right Service was the mechanical contractor for this project. We were contracted to install the plumbing and heating & cooling systems. Being a LEED® project, we experienced a higher set of standards relative to submittals, using low VOC sealants and mastics, MERV 13 filters, building air flush, covering exposed duct openings during construction, etc. This experience, along with having our own LEED® AP, has positioned our company to be the local mechanical leader in LEED® level projects. We are incorporating all that we have learned in this project into our internal practices. We have completed the construction phase of a second project that is seeking LEED® certification.
